Parables And Prophecy
Some portions of the Bible appear mysterious and hard to understand. When we read prophecy, we wonder how it applies to us today. When we read a parable, several meanings may come to mind. How do we know which is correct? Poetry and proverbs may seem obscure. The letters to churches don't seem to connect to us. How do we read each of these types of Bible literature in a way that is both faithful to the text and authoritative to our lives? This guide points the way. This series is designed to ground a Christ follower in the study and understanding of Scripture. Be prepared for some challenge and some stretching. This may be the first time you are exposed to certain theological concepts or terms, or to some more indepth methods of Bible Study. It contains: a questions or icebreaker to focus the meeting an overview of where we are headed 30 minutes of the main portion of discussion time information to read that identifies coes issues and ideasto keep you on track with the journey Important Scripture or discussions for memorization or reflection a group activity (sometimes done is subgroups) to build community and share understanding of what was learned a chance to summarize and look back at what has been learned or accomplished closing with an opportunity to pray for one another and asking God to deepen the truths of Scripture in you. No Prep time is required. Questions and space is provided for answers in the book.
